NOSAS originally uncovered and surveyed remains at Mulchaich between 2009 and 2013. These were long thought to be related to the distilling of Ferintosh whisky in the 1700s, see NoSAS's page here for further details. 

Recent vegetation clearing at the site has prompted a re-consideration of how the visible remains may fit into the background of national and regional distilling activity.

Join us for a field visit to the two 18th Century settlements, near Alcaig, on the Black Isle. We will discuss our latest findings from geophysical survey and metal detecting, and will also visit the nearby prehistoric chambered cairn.
